Synopsis: A college dropout dealing with the suicide of his best friend battles an eating disorder, struggles with his belief in God and falls for a mysterious girl who appears to comfort him at funerals. A story about growing up in an extremely religious Virginia town, ‘Seven Hill City’ follows a pivotal three months in the life of Brooks, his college girlfriend, a Religion In Film professor and a woman who appears to be an angel, but may be something much more.
Based on the 2003 novel ‘Seven Hill City.’

Character Breakdowns:

Brooks – early 20s, Caucasian. Well-meaning and good-hearted, but a little broken by reality. Bulimic with severe body images issues. The character is written as male, but genderfluid actors are encouraged to audition. Role includes implied nudity, sex scenes and vomiting/simulated vomiting. Harsh language/subject matter.

Aranea – early 20s, Caucasian. Dangerously skinny with long, curly white hair. She has a mysterious aura about her, grounded in reality. Frank, honest, quirky, religious. Pretty, but unconventionally so. Described as having exaggerated, almost “alien” features.

Auburn – mid-20s, Caucasian. Attractive chubby, tattooed and pierced film school student from Alabama with a punk aesthetic. Smart, witty and confident, masking inner pain. Role requires nudity, sex scenes and harsh language/subject matter.

Solomon – late-30s to early-40s, college professor. Handsome, but feels like he’s starting to lose it. Uptight, smart and very religious, with a dark side. Role includes brief nudity/implied nudity and a brief sex scene.

Kirby – mid-to-early-20s, Asian. Auburn’s roommate. A good friend standing on the outside of Auburn’s personal drama. Beautiful, funny and detached. Role includes brief nudity, harsh language and a brief sex scene.
